This essay draws on my experiences teaching in the fall of 2020 and serving as associate director of the City University of New York’s Transformative Learning in the Humanities (TLH) initiative to propose and describe an “environmental” or “habitable pedagogy” for the twenty-first century. I’m so proud to see it published in English Language Notes, featured alongside articles by leading disability scholar Lennard Davis as well as Henry A. Giroux and Michael Bérubé who are also featured in this issue on “Pandemic Pedagogies.”
